Frank Lampard is a “clear and strong” candidate to replace Graham Potter if West Ham decide to pull the plug on his nine month tenure at the club.

That’s according to The Sun’s Alan Nixon , who claims that the Hammers are drawing up a short list of potential replacements for under pressure Potter who has overseen three defeats out of his opening four Premier League games of the new season – the latest a 3-0 home defeat to capital rivals Tottenham.

The good news for Coventry City fans, however, is that the report also states that proven Premier League coach Nuno Espirito Santo is also on that list if Potter “fails to deliver”.
