BUTTE VALLEY — As Saturday’s game went on, the Butte College football team and its offense wore down City College of San Francisco, as the Roadrunners defeated the Rams 34-14 on homecoming at Butte College.
A scoreless first quarter filled with an abundance of penalties from both teams proved costly and ended with a 0-0 score going into the second quarter, but the Roadrunners scored twice in the second quarter to take a 14-0 lead into halftime. They added 10 points in the third quarter on a TD and a field goal, entering the fourth quarter with a 24-0 lead.
“I think just execution was the biggest thing, and we talked about that a lot throughout the week and leading up to today that we just wanted to win the physical battle,” said Roadrunners’ head coach Robby Snelling.
