The Blue Jackets are picking up goaltender Ivan Fedotov in a trade with the Flyers, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports. Philadelphia is not retaining any salary in the deal, according to The Athletic’s Kevin Kurz . The Flyers are recouping a sixth-round pick in the deal, Kurz adds .

Columbus will acquire Fedotov after his first NHL season came in well below expectations. The 28-year-old had a long road to NHL minutes – including a years-long contract saga that involved mandatory military service in Russia and IIHF sanctions imposed on him over conflicting contracts with Philadelphia and CSKA Moscow – but finally arrived in North America in April 2024.
