Shedeur Sanders precipitously dropped deep into Day 3 of the 2025 NFL draft. We now know why he went three picks later than some might expect.
The Baltimore Ravens planned to select the Colorado quarterback with the No. 141 overall pick in the fifth round of the draft, ESPN reported on Sunday, Sept. 14.
Sanders, though, informed the Ravens that he did not want to go to a team where Lamar Jackson remains entrenched as the starting quarterback.
Because of that, the Ravens decided not to make the selection, and instead used the 141st pick to draft offensive Alabama A&M lineman Carson Vinson.

Three picks later, the Cleveland Browns selected Sanders with the 144th overall pick.
