JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. — The sweet smell of candies being made is enough to bring anyone into Schimpff’s Confectionery on Spring Street in downtown Jeffersonville.

It's always busy inside the shop with the candy making demonstrations held throughout business hours. Co-owner of the historic piece of Jeffersonville, Warren Schimpff, can sometimes be found with a fresh batch of Red Hot candies.

"Red Hots are our most popular candy," Schimpff said. "Last year, we made over 20,00 pounds of them right here on this bench.”

Warren Schimpff is a fourth generation owner of the business. He’s seen a lot of customers in his time and the shop has been named the number one candy store in America by USA Today .
