SELMA, Ala. ( WSFA ) - Out of hundreds of nominations for teachers across the nation, the Bill of Rights Institute has chosen a Selma teacher as its national civics teacher of the year.
It’s a high honor presented to only one teacher every year. The award honors the role civics teachers play in educating students and future generations of American leaders. This year’s recipient is Selma’s very own Veronica Pitts.
