Charlie Kirk’s assassination rattled lawmakers from both parties in California.

The state’s youngest lawmaker, 29-year-old Republican Assemblyman David Tangipa, joined California Politics 360 to talk about knowing, working with and being inspired by Kirk.

California’s Democratic Attorney General Rob Bonta also joined the program to weigh in on Kirk’s death and political violence overall.

“He was bold,” Tangipa said in the interview Sunday. “It’s heartbreaking to me the only weapon Charlie had was a microphone and he is no longer here today simply for being convicted in his beliefs.”
