DETROIT, Mich. (WLNS) – Former Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson made his return to Ford Field on Sunday afternoon, but this time as the head coach of the Chicago Bears.
The Bears and Lions were both 0-1 heading into this NFC North matchup. The Lions set the tone early and got on the board first thanks to a 6-yard Jahymir Gibbs touchdown. The Bears wouldn't let down just yet, and tied things up when quarterback Caleb Williams completed a 28-yard pass to Rome Odunze.
The Lions got right back to it, and Jared Goff completed a 32 yard pass to Amon St. Brown to get to 1st and goal, and David Montgomery ran it in to give the Lions the 14-7 lead. Caleb Williams then went on to throw his lone interception of the game and the Lions got the ball back.
