The Texas Rangers scored two runs but the New York Mets scored five runs in ten innings.

The Rangers reinserted one of their stars right back into the middle of the lineup. He went 0-for-4 in the cleanup spot and the Rangers lost. Maybe the rascals are only rascals when they’re little.

For a while there it seemed like we might have a repeat of yesterday’s win with the Rangers trailing 1-0, giving up a solo home run to go down 2-0, and then utilizing a late-innings, two-out rally on their way to a comeback.

Alas it wasn’t to be this time. Texas had their chances but couldn’t make use of a few golden runner-on-third-with-less-than-two-outs situations — including in extras with their free Manfred Man — and it came back to bite them as their winning streak came to an end.
