CLEVELAND — Akron firefighters say no one was hurt after a fire broke out at a home in the East Akron neighborhood Saturday night.

Crews responded to Lovers Lane just before 8:30 p.m. and found the two-story house heavily engulfed in flames with smoke pouring out of the side and back of the structure, according to a press release.

Prior to firefighters' arrival a neighbor helped a pregnant woman escape the home safely through a second-story window, the fire department said. Medics evaluated the woman at the scene; she was unharmed and declined further medical assistance. There was one other resident in the house. No injuries were reported.

The cause and origin of the fire is being investigated by the State Fire Marshall's office.
