CLEVELAND — Gas prices continue to drop in Cleveland, falling below the $3 mark.

New data released by GasBuddy on Monday shows Cleveland’s average is now $2.92 per gallon after a sharp decline of 18.4 cents in the last week. Prices are 20 cents lower than a month ago and 2.1 cents lower than this time last year.

Drivers in Akron are paying even less, with the city’s average at $2.76 after falling 16 cents in the last week.

Across the country, the national average has slipped 3.6 cents in the last week to $3.12. That’s down 1.8 cents from a month ago and 2.8 cents lower than a year ago. Diesel prices are averaging $3.66 nationally after a 2.6-cent decline in the last week.
