QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) — The son of a Queens man killed in a stabbing on Saturday has been charged with murder, police announced.

John Muraco, 76, was stabbed in the chest and killed inside his home just before midnight on Saturday, according to police.

Muraco, of Queens, was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS first responders. Police said they had a person of interest in custody on Sunday, now identified as Muraco's 25-year-old son, Carl, authorities confirmed.

Carl Muraco, who was living with his father on 102nd Street, has been charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon following his arrest Sunday morning, according to police.

The investigation remains ongoing, officials said.
