BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — The United States Department of Agriculture will provide an additional $1 billion in disaster relief for floods and wildfires that happened in 2023 and 2024.

The funds will be available to Livestock producers to offset increased feed costs as a result of wildfires or floods. The livestock producers must be located in a county that had a qualifying disaster. North Dakota counties that qualify are: • Bowman • Golden Valley • McKenzie • McLean • Oliver • Sioux • Williams

Livestock producers can apply for the assistance starting on September 15, and applications will be open until October 31.

Senator John Hoeven touted the aid, "We appreciate Secretary Rollins for working with us to get this much-needed assistance out to our producers," the senator said
