A bicyclist was hospitalized Sunday after he rode into the path of a vehicle in Long Beach.
The crash occurred about 12:45 p.m. Sunday at Pacific Coast Highway and Golden Avenue, near the Los Angeles River, according to Long Beach Police Department spokeswoman Jennifer Serafin.
Preliminary information revealed he vehicle was westbound on PCH in the No. 2 lane and the bicyclist was westbound in the far-right bicycle lane as they approached Golden Avenue, Serafin said.
The man on the bicycle attempted to turn southbound onto Golden, moved into the vehicle’s path and was rear-ended, she said.
The bicyclist suffered non-life-threatening injuries to his upper and lower body and was taken by ambulance to a hospital with stable vital signs, Serafin said.
