RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - For one last game, Richmond Flying Squirrels fans made their way into The Diamond for an afternoon full of baseball.

Sunday’s game marked the last one in a series against the Hartford Yard Goats.

In what was deemed the Farewell Series called “Diamond’s Aren’t Forever,” all week long fans participated in fun events and giveaways.

The Flying Squirrels reported a total of 52,027 fans over the course of the week, setting a new record in the team’s 15-year history.

The first 2,000 supporters making it to Sunday’s game received a collectable bobble head of Ray Edwards .

“I didn’t expect it but it’s an honor,” Edwards said.
