WEST HARTFORD, CT. (WFSB) - Significant damage was reported in an apartment fire in West Hartford.

Officials say that the blaze broke out on Oakwood Avenue at around 5:24 p.m.

Firefighters responded and saw visible fire and smoke at the back of the building.

The fire was declared under control at 6:01 p.m. The residence was unoccupied when crews searched the area.

There was minor damage to neighboring units.

No injuries were reported.

The building will not be reoccupied due to the significant smoke, water, and fire damage. The Red Cross responded to assist the occupants.

The West Hartford Fire Marshal’s office is investigating.
