LANSING — A 57-year-old man was critically injured in a shooting south of Interstate 496, near Aurelius Road and East Malcolm X Street, the evening of Sept. 14.

Lansing police were dispatched for a shooting in that area around 5:30 p.m. and found the man with a gunshot wound to the chest, the Lansing Police Department said in a release.

“The victim is in critical but stable condition," the release said. "At this time, it is believed the victim and the suspect knew each other.”

No arrests have happened, and an investigation continues.
