BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) -- A man is in serious condition after being shot early Sunday morning in Baton Rouge.

According to police, officers were called to Baton Rouge General Mid-City around 1 a.m. after a man arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound.

Investigators learned the victim and two other men were visiting friends at an unknown location when someone in a passing vehicle opened fire. The victim was struck and later transported from BRG Mid-City to another hospital for treatment.

The two other men were not injured, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
