GADSDEN, S.C. — A historic church in Gadsden is marking more than 150 years of faith, fellowship, and service.

Red Hill Baptist Church is celebrating its 157th anniversary this weekend, honoring a legacy that spans generations of worship and community impact.

Since its founding in 1868, Red Hill Baptist has served as a spiritual cornerstone for the Gadsden community and a gathering place through times of trial, triumph and transformation.

“For me first of all it means longevity for the church,” said Pastor Donnie Chambers. “It means that the church has withstood a lot of trauma and storms in its life and it’s just a blessing to know this area has been in this spot for 157 years, I mean it’s a blessing.”
