Trammel Tillman and Britt Lower won best supporting actor and actress for “Severance,” giving the Apple TV+ show, a favorite in many of the drama categories, a pair of early wins at the 77th Annual Emmy Awards on Sunday.

“You remember what you want to remember,” said Tillman, the first Black actor to win best supporting actor in a drama. “You make time for what you want to make time for, do the work, show up, and most importantly, for the love of God, don’t embarrass me in public.

“My first acting coach was tough, y’all, but all great mothers are,” he said as the camera cut to his mother in the audience. “Mama, you were there for me when no one else was, and no one else would show up. Your loving kindness stays with me, and this is for you.”
