SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Cal Fire firefighters were battling a brush fire that broke out near Lake Henshaw Sunday evening.
The Henshaw Fire broke out at the north end of Lake Henshaw around 4 p.m. Sunday. It was burning at six acres with 80% containment as of 6:30 p.m., Cal Fire reported.
Cal Fire said the fire broke out in light grass and was being driven east by winds about 1,000 feet from the road.
No homes were threatened in the immediate area, but Cal Fire reports some nearby ancillary structures were threatened.
Several air tankers were dispatched to the scene to assist the firefighters on the ground.
