ELMHURST, Queens (PIX11) — The man accused of killing a 16-year-old girl in Elmhurst on Saturday is said to have intentionally done so, according to Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz.

Edwin Cruz Gomez, 38, was officially charged with murder, among other charges, for hitting the teen, along with her boyfriend, mother and stepfather, while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, D.A. Katz announced Sunday.

It is alleged that Cruz Gomez, of Uniondale, made "crude sexual solicitations" towards 16-year-old Jhoanny Alvarez and her mother while outside Prima Donna Restaurant on Roosevelt Avenue at around 4:10 a.m. on Saturday, which sparked a fight between Cruz Gomez and Alvarez's boyfriend and stepfather.

D.A. Katz said Cruz Gomez offered each of the girls money for sexual acts.
