Warrington lad Owen Cooper has made history today by becoming the youngest ever male winner of an acting Emmy at just 15 years old.

The young actor won the prestigious award for his leading role in the drama series Adolescence, which was a hit on Netflix earlier this year. Upon receiving the award at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, Cooper expressed his surprise, stating he never expected to be in the US, "let alone here".

Owen said at the awards: "I was nothing about three years ago, I'm here now. Step out of your comfort zone a little, who cares if you get embarrassed."
