MINNEAPOLIS — The Atlanta Falcons won its first game of the season in primetime on Sunday night after its defense put together one the best overall statistical performances in years and the offense did just enough throughout the night.
Kicker Parker Romo made an excellent first impression on his new squad, going 5/5 on field goals and really giving Atlanta excitement about that position going forward and allowed them to keep momentum through the game.
The rushing game and Romo were the stories of the offense, much like the pass rush and play by the entire rookie class stole the headlines defensively. Romo was nails as he drilled field goals from 38, 29, 33, 33 and 54 yards.
