The City of Goshen is currently facing a financial crisis.

As a result of the Senate Enrolled Act 1, the City of Goshen’s revenues are expected to be reduced by 38 percent, limiting the ability to fund essential city services that residents rely on daily.

They say they must pass next year’s budget by the end of October without knowing the full impact of the legislation.

They say SEA 1 does not fix rising assessments, will lead to new fees and loss of services and shifts costs unfairly.

They say that Goshen families were promised tax relief, but SEA 1 brings more risks and a heavier load on homeowners. Goshen City officials say they endorse the call for an urgent fix to the legislation.
