Accepting his first-ever Emmy Award, actor Noah Wyle gave a nod to the medical community that inspired “The Pitt.”

“To anybody who’s going on shift tonight, or coming off shift tonight, this is for you,” the actor said, holding his Emmy for best actor in a drama series on Sunday.

The 77th annual Primetime Emmy Awards, held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, were good to the medical drama, which overall received 13 nominations for its first season.

Set in an emergency room in Pittsburgh, “The Pitt” also took home the competitive outstanding drama series award, beating out fellow HBO Max series “The White Lotus” and “The Last of Us.” “Andor” (Disney+), “The Diplomat” (Netflix), “Paradise” (Hulu), and “Severance” and “Slow Horses” from Apple TV+ were also nominated in the category.
