PITTSBURGH —
On Sunday night, demolition officially began on the Jefferson Apartments along Forward Avenue in Pittsburgh’s Squirrel Hill South neighborhood.
That came five days after a large fire tore through the building, leaving all of the tenants homeless, but no one injured. Advertisement
Now that the demolition has begun, it will take about a week to demolish the building and longer to haul away the debris.
Crews will work in 8-to-10-hour shifts.
