When the local people spotted a mama cat and her babies deep inside the Mississippi woods, they did everything they could to help them.

They fed the mama cat, but as much as they tried, they couldn’t capture the kittens, who were too deep to reach.

News that the cat family needed help reached Avery Hood and Andrea Moore, two wonderful women who help the local stray cats. They immediately jumped to their aid and headed to the woods.

The Distrustful Mama Cat

Despite having the best intentions, the mama cat was suspicious of Hood and Moore and refused to cooperate.

“I jokingly told [the mama] to bring me her babies, but didn’t think she would,” Hood told The Dodo .

Hopeful that they would rescue the cat family soon, Hood went home.
