The family of Ricky Hatton have paid a heartfelt tribute to his "kindness, humour and loyalty" in an emotional statement following his death.

Hatton , aged 46, was discovered dead at his Manchester home on Sunday. He rose to fame as one of Britain's most beloved boxers during his career, reaching the pinnacle in 2005 when he became world champion in his hometown of Manchester.

His subsequent fights with Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao resulted in losses, leading him into a severe depression.
