Queens, NY – A man was stabbed during a violent confrontation on 43 Avenue early Saturday morning, police said.

The incident happened around 4:55 a.m. in front of 11-01 43 Avenue, where a 30-year-old man was approached from behind by an unidentified individual. A verbal dispute broke out before the attacker punched the victim, pulled a knife, and stabbed him in the torso.

Emergency medical crews rushed the victim to New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition.

The suspect fled the scene in a 2022 blue Kia Sorento, last seen traveling southbound on 43 Avenue. No arrests have been made.

Detectives are working to identify the individual and determine the circumstances leading up to the stabbing.
