Several people gathered at the Chattanooga Riverfront Sunday evening to remember the life and legacy of Charlie Kirk.
The conservative activist was assassinated by a gunman during an event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday, September 10.
Authorities suspect Kirk's killer is 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, whose father and family contacted law enforcement during the manhunt.
In our area, locals gathered to pray for Kirk's family and the nation, as well as sing "Amazing Grace" by the Tennessee River. People brought flowers and American flags to the memorial.
"Our community's coming together, I mean, it's awesome," said Brett Miller, who attended the vigil. "I hate it had to be on these terms, but it's good to see people coming together and actually expressing some feelings here."
