LAPORTE — Police said they have identified the source of two bomb threats targeting local businesses over the weekend.

The threats were called in Saturday evening and forced the temporary evacuation of the local Walmart store, according to the LaPorte department.

The threat to the Walmart store was thoroughly cleared before shoppers were allowed to return.

Police say there is no active threat to the community.

"We thank the public and our business partners for their cooperation during this incident," police said.
