It was supposed to be a "special" night in the history of the Mt. Hope High School football program, and fittingly, though unfortunately, special teams were the determining factor in the Huskies loss.

Classical rallied to defeat Mt. Hope, 18-17, Friday night, Sept. 12, at Veterans Field in Warren in what was the first home game ever for the Huskies played away from their Bristol campus since the district merger 33 years ago.

It was the 2025 regular season and Division III opener for both sides.

The Huskies are playing their three home games, including the Classical contest, this fall at Vets Park, the former home of Warren High School now Kickemuit Middle School, due to construction on the new MHHS building in Bristol.
