MITCHELL – A search and rescue mission took place on Saturday, September 13 , to locate 87-year-old Albert Mesarosh, who had been reported missing. He was not found.

The search party gathered at noon at the American Legion, located at 404 Sheeks Drive in Mitchell. A non-profit search and rescue team agreed to help in the effort.

Albert was last seen on Sunday, September 7, 2025.

Albert Mesarosh is described as being 5’9″ tall, weighing 150 lbs, with grey hair and blue eyes.

According to his family, Mesarosh has medical issues that may have caused him to become lost or confused. He does not own a vehicle and is often seen walking around town and along wooded trails. His destination at the time he went missing is unknown.
