No-name candidates for Wisconsin governor could produce surprises

MADISON — Without an incumbent or any obvious frontrunners, the next race for governor is tailor made for the unexpected to emerge.

For the second time in four decades, the race for governor is wide open, creating an opportunity for a candidate to rise to the top of the field that might go against the kind of person voters typically pick, political experts say, but a political environment so focused on national issues may keep the race predictable, too.
