NEW PHILADELPHIA, Ohio — A Tuscarawas County Common Pleas Court judge has called an evidentiary hearing for later this month in the case of Ruth Miller , the Amish woman accused of multiple charges in the death of her 4-year-old son at Atwood Lake last month.
Specifically, the Sept. 29 hearing will determine whether bail should be established.
Miller, the 40-year-old from Millersburg, pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to a seven-count indictment after the deaths of her husband and four-year-old son at Atwood Lake during the weekend of Aug. 23-24. The charges include:
1 count of aggravated murder of her four-year-old son, citing prior calculation and design
1 count of murder related to her son
1 count of felonious assault related to her son
1 count of child endangerin
