Adolescence star Stephen Graham said his Emmy win shows "any dream is possible". The Leicestershire-based actor's Netflix series romped home with a number of awards at the glitzy ceremony in America.

Stephen, who lives in Ibstock, near Coalville , scooped the award for lead actor in a limited series for his role of Eddie Miller in Adolescence - the drama which examines misogyny amongst teenage boys and has ignited debates about internet safety . The actor was overcome with emotion as he accepted the award in America.

He told the audience: "I'm just a mixed-race kid from a block of flats in a place called Kirkby. So, for me to be here today in front of my peers and to be acknowledged by you is the utmost humbling thing I could ever imagine in my life, and it shows you that any dream
