Eric Dane is using his platform to push toward a goal of raising $1 billion toward research for treatments and ultimately a cure for ALS after being diagnosed with the neurodegenerative disease.
The "Euphoria" actor and former "Grey's Anatomy" star shared in a Sept. 15 Instagram video that he is working with "I Am ALS" on its Push for Progress initiative to find a cure for the disease.
His video message came one day after Dane missed the 77th annual Emmy Awards in Los Angeles. He was initially scheduled to present an award at the ceremony alongside former costar Jesse Williams, but did not appear.
