DES MOINES, Iowa —
People in Iowa and across the United States are coming together to process the shooting death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was killed during an event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.
In the days following his death, several gatherings have been held nationwide to honor Kirk and condemn acts of political violence, including one in Des Moines.
Supporters gathered outside the Iowa Statehouse Sunday afternoon.
Another vigil at the Statehouse is planned for Monday at 7 p.m. The organizer of the event said it is nonpartisan and meant to condemn political violence as a whole.
