COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Colorado House Representative and Minority Leader Rose Pugliese (R) has resigned from her position, according to a letter provided to 11 News by a spokesperson with the Colorado House Republicans.

Pugliese served as the representative for District 14, which encompasses part of El Paso County. In her letter of resignation, she cites a “contentious” special session, as well as a “heartbreaking and challenging” week in relation to the shooting at Evergreen High School, the murder of Charlie Kirk and the remembrance of the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

“The last day of Special Session was sad and disappointing for me. I had no other choice but to bear witness to the collapse of integrity in the Colorado State House of Representative,” the letter reads. “T
