The 2025 Kingston Fall Fair drew in more than 30,000 people over its four-day annual event, which showcased all things agriculture and featured midway fun.

While the fair’s president was happy with how it went, she said it was unfortunate that Saturday night had to be cut short following a person deploying bear spray into a crowd.

“We’re taking this very seriously,” Yvonne Compton said. “We always take our security seriously and we are going to debrief with the security team and the Kingston Police and talk about what we can do.”

According to a news release from Kingston Police, two people had to be treated by Frontenac Paramedic Services, but their injuries were minor.

As a result, Compton asked the midway operators to shut down the rides at 10:30 p.m. on Saturda
