DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. (KOLO) - An 18-year-old who was the subject of a manhunt in Douglas County was found dead on Saturday.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says Michael Jocoboni was found dead this past weekend. Jocoboni was wanted on probation violations on felony charges for sexual assault and burglary.

Police say they received a tip Saturday that Jocobini was walking on the dirt portion of Vicki Lane in Minden.

They say that when police attempted to apprehend him, he shot himself once in the head.

Police say he had stolen a handgun from his father the day before after cutting off his ankle monitor.

Life-saving measures were attempted, but he was pronounced dead at Renown in Reno after being life-flighted.
