Phylicia Rashad paying special tribute to her TV son and former “Cosby Show” co-star who died in July at age 54.

During the 77th annual Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday, the ceremony took a solemn pause from celebration to honor television talents who died in the past year. Among those remembered was Malcolm-Jamal Warner, who was given a special tribute by Rashad nearly two months after his tragic drowning in Costa Rica.

Rashad took the stage at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles to deliver heartfelt words about Warner, who played her son Theo Huxtable on the iconic sitcom.

“He was a beloved teenager in an iconic television series with a world-watched role. And like all our friends and colleagues who transitioned this past year, Malcolm-Jamal Warner remains in our hearts,” Rashad shared
