LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services said a 47-year-old Lincoln Reception and Treatment Center inmate died at a hospital on Saturday.

Malin Choneska’s sentence began on May 23. He was serving up to one year out of Douglas County for a third-offense aggravated DUI.

While the cause of death has not yet been determined, Choneska was being treated for a medical condition. As is the case whenever an inmate dies in the custody of the NDCS, a grand jury will conduct an investigation.
