Shortly before he was taken into custody Thursday, Tyler Robinson apparently confessed to friends onlineto having killed Charlie Kirk, according to screenshots of messages obtained by The Washington Post.

In one message, sent via the social platform Discord, Robinson appears to have plainly admitted his guilt.

“Hey guys, I have bad news for you all,” the message reads. “It was me at UVU yesterday. im sorry for all of this.”

The report aligns with earlier statements from investigators about Robinson’s communications on Discord.

In other, earlier, Discord messages sent shortly after the FBI released surveillance photos of the suspect, Robinson joked that his “doppelganger” was trying to “get me in trouble.”
