Supreme Court rejects sentence appeal in Good Samaritan case

The Vermont Supreme Court has upheld the sentence of a man convicted of severely beating a neighbor who tried to stop him from assaulting a woman.

In a decision issued earlier this month, a three-judge panel from the court threw out Walter Taylor III’s challenge of his sentence of eight to 22 years to serve following his conviction in 2021 on felony charges of aggravated assault, domestic assault, obstruction of justice and assault and robbery.
