DELTONA, Fla. (Gray News) – Two boys have been arrested after deputies say they broke into an elementary school library and caused more than $50,000 in damage.

According to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office , the boys’ moms turned them in to law enforcement.

Deputies said they responded to a fire alarm at Friendship Elementary School in Deltona around 1 a.m. Sunday.

When they arrived, deputies found a glass door had been shattered and the media center in the library was vandalized.

Two boys were caught on camera and the photos were released to the public, officials said. Later, the sheriff’s office said their moms recognized them and turned them in.

The Volusia County Sheriff identified the two boys as being 12 and 13 years old.
