A power outage Monday morning is at least the fifth documented in and around Seattle’s Beacon Hill neighborhood in about a month.

Monday’s outage, which at its peak affected at least 6,000 Seattle City Light customers, had also shut down the Dr. José Rizal Bridge on 12th Street for hours. The power was restored about noon Monday, about five hours after the outage began.

Seattle City Light spokesperson Jenn Strang said the four outages had “different and unrelated” causes: A wire falling on the Interstate 90 overpass on Sept. 5, a “bird contact with equipment” on Sept. 10, and a downed wire Monday morning. One on Aug. 27 had “no root cause.” There was also an outage Aug. 15 caused by a pole fire.
