GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - The Grand Island Police Department is investigating two separate incidents of people’s property being damaged by stray bullets near Indianhead Golf Club.

Officers responded to a criminal mischief call on Friday evening near Indianhead Road and Schroeder Avenue after the homeowner found a bullet had struck the house’s glass door.

Then about two hours later, officers were called out to a weapon’s offense near Indianhead Road and Laramie Drive. The homeowner discovered a bullet was shot through a bedroom window.

Division Chief Dean Elliott said while these incidents don’t appear to be targeted attacks, they are investigating to see if they are related. He did say that the bullets recovered seemed to have been fired from a rifle, possibly miles away.
