A home in Campbell River was heavily damaged by fire Monday morning after flames broke out in the garage and spread to other parts of the house.

The fire started around 9:40 a.m. at a home on Serenity Drive. When firefighters arrived, they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the fully involved home.

Three engines and two ladder trucks could be seen at the home fighting the blaze. Paramedics were also brought in as a precaution to support firefighters, but no injuries were reported.

The fire was knocked down within about 30 minutes of the initial call and crews remained on scene into the early afternoon to ensure the area was safe.

The second floor of the home appeared to be destroyed in the aftermath, while a camper trailer in the driveway was also heavily damaged.
